Humble Beginnings

So as many people know, when I grow up I really want to be a photographer.  Well in order to practice and get better I have a hand full of friends who have been willing to be my practice models.  And I am actually selling my very first CD of photos to one such friend! I'm so excited to start getting my work out, even though I know I have much growing to do, this is still an exciting moment in my life.

Surviving VS

Yesterday my sisters and I went Belated Christmas Shopping, since i didn't have time before Christmas Day to get them presents, and I figured I mind as well bring them along and get them something I know they like.

So we started off going to Burlington Coat Factory, which had NOTHING so then we made our way to the only mall I know how to get to, the BIG mall :)

We were there for hours, and they both found things they really liked, and $60 dollars later Benae decided she wanted to go buy some new undies. While Jessica and I were checking out at Forever 21, Nae made her way to American Eagle. Well A&E didn't have any cute ones, at least not in her size, so then she went over to Victoria Secret.  Now this may not seem like that big of a deal, but one thing you should know about Jessica and I, we're deathly afraid of the underwear store.

Well Jess and I went and got some Auntie Anne's pretzels, but after we'd eaten ours and Nae still wasn't out we decided to go and save her, because we were sure she was drowning in lace and elastic straps.

Jess and I did very well that day, we survived a trip in and through VS, and we even got some undies (Jessie still didn't touch anything, she had Benae do it all) and I must say, I am quite proud of us :)

Christmas Getaway

So my sisters both came home from colleges in Utah for break and my mom decided that it'd be fun to spend the holidays AWAY from home, so where did she chose? A little one-bedroom apartment in Asheville, NC.  Now don't get me wrong it was a wickedly fun vacation, spending time with my sisters who i haven't seen since the summer, and we've always been really close, so i t was nice having them around and all, but ONE bedroom...?

It was fun on the first day we went "hiking." This constituted of finding a camp ground and going from one little site to the next until we found a playground.  It was the coolest thing, not only did it have swings (my FAVORITE!) but right off to the side it had a little wood bridge that lead to a tiny little island!! On the island in the middle of this forest in the middle of no-where North Carolina, it was the greatest find! a little fort built out of stick and branches, a little river with icicles frozen to the rocks, and just a lovely little bit of nature.

Christmas Day was fun too!! Santa came and visited us at the little apartment and he stacked all of our presents in a little tour, just like a Christmas Tree, and he even topped it with a little gold star! before we opened presents, we got up, had breakfast, got dressed, took family pictures (in front of the GIANT Christmas Tree in the lobby) and then we read the Christmas story-Matthew and Luke- and we finished off our Christmas Day Preparations by reading the book Santa brought us and left by the cookie plate.  Just another Christmas that started off (relatively) the same :)

My sister Jessica got me to exercise too! What are the odds, right? And goodness, I'll tell you what my body HURT everyday haha, but hey, if it helps me get to the size I want to be for the wedding in May... :) The video of us doing lunges? Priceless :)

We finally left today and just barely got home, and can I say it is good to be home!  I've missed my bed, and my own bathroom, and well, everything, but over all I think it was quite the successful getaway :)
