Mexican Food. What is the deal with Mexican food? And why is it that Americans LOOVE it so much? Like you go out for dinner, and there is a Mexican restaurant on almost every corner! Doesn't that strike anyone else as odd? However, I think I've figured out the why behind why Americans love Mexican Food so much. It's because Mexico has been invading the US for years, and our population is made up of so many Mexicans. And it seems like whenever a Mexican moves to the US they either go work at a relatives restaurant, or, they open up a new one. And that my friends, is why there are SO many Mexican restaurant.
But see, I, unlike the average American, can't stand Mexican food. I really can't. And for the longest time, as long as I can remember actually, I have felt this way. My papa LOOOVES it, so we eat at Mexican restaurant quite often. But see no matter when it is, or where we go, I always get around it somehow. Which usually means ordering the Fish. I go to a Mexican restaurant, and the closest thing I get to Mexican food are the Fish Tacos. Is that wrong?

Cooking with Sister Brimhall
Today I went and visited with Sister Burge, one of the sweetest old ladies you'll ever meet, and a life story to go with everything. We made some juice, and I got to cut the apples and put the fruits/veggies in the blender.
When she went to go take a nap, I sat and talked with Jessica and Sister Brimhall. And then we started cooking. :D
I learned some VERY important lessons when it comes to cooking, and lots of secrets, and I'll even share a few.
The very first thing we made were Tortilla Tower's, which are like a quesadilla, but with multiple layers, super easy, fast, fun, and yummy.
And then I learned with one recipe for bread you can make almost ANYTHING. It's the recipe of twos. 2 tbs sugar, 2 tsp salt, 2 cups hot water, 2 tbs yeast, 2 tbs olive oil, and 5 cups flower. And it was amazing just how many different things you can make just from that.
We made pizza, little cheese volcanoes, braided bread (my Fish :D), cinnamon rolls, baby cinnamon rolls the look like lollipops, bread sticks, knot bread, and pretzels! Not to mention loafs of bread and more, but we ran out of dough so we didn't make everything we could have.
The best thing I learned today was "Good Enough Cooking." And this is one thing I suggest every person should start doing when they cook, because it is such a time saver, and the food still turns out great.
"Good Enough Cooking" is where you forget about measurements, and put in ingredients where it looks like its close enough to the correct measurement. Why bother taking out all of those little measuring spoons, when you can just put a dollop of sugar in the cup of your hand that's about a tbs? It's much faster, and you don't have to worry about cleaning up all of those little spoons. And a dash of oil comes out to be about a tbs, so why take the extra resources, when you can just use the ones you have more effectively?
For cinnamon rolls, when you make the "secret ingredient," aka cinnamon sugar, why both measuring out the exact amount of sugar-per-cinnamon ratio, just put it together until its a good brown color. For bread sticks just put the seasoning on until you think its good.
All of the food we made came out great, and tasted like heaven, so I can truly say, I love "Good Enough Cooking." :D <3

Isn't It Strange?
If you know anything about me, or have talked to me at all in the last year, you know the Number One Thing on my mind, my Sixteenth Birthday. It's all i ever think or talk about. And I can always find something everyday to remind me of it. And I even have a count down as to how many days away it is.
But I was doing some thinking the other day, about my big ol' 16th Birthday. Just what is so special about it? About the actual day. What? What is soo special that it has taken over my mind, my life?
There are only two things, BIG things that happen when you, well I, turn sixteen. Number 1: Driving. Number 2:Dating.
Well let's talk about driving. On April 4th of next year, i wont get to obtain my Drivers Licence, I'll have to wait another three months to get that, and I'll have already been driving all over the place, just with an adult, what's the big difference between the two? With an adult, without an adult...
And dating. Why is that SUCH a big deal to me? Sure I've had to wait to turn 16 to start dating, but what does that matter? What's the point of being able to date when there isn't anyone TO date? And the very few that are worth dating, aren't interested, or they're already dating someone else.
So, now I'm not so worried or consumed with turning 16, and I'm just going to be content to be 15 :)

Day with Devon
Today I spent the day with my Best Friend Devon :) and we went on an Adventure! :)
To start to went to Mexican for dinner and had SUPER spicy guacamole, that like burned off ALL of my taste buds, so I'm not sure how my dinner tasted after that :P And I have found that she is CRAZY, surprising that i didn't realise this in the last almost 5 years now, but, hey, what can i say? ;)
Then we got home and had MAKE-OVERS!! :) and got her all fansied up and took LOADS of pictures :)
So my Backyad/Frontyard, as i found out today, is actually full of really cool places to take some pretty awesome, outdoorsy photos :) thanks to all of those Trees we cut down and have the logs and branches in what seems like hundreds of piles of wood. And then after we were done playing in the backyard, we went to the PaRk :D

Oh, and i did a full cart wheel for the first time in my life :) Happy Day
So yeah, it was a good day with Devon :P

There is nothing better than a good ol' Musical Marathon. Well, that is, very few things. And some of which are, having it with one of your best friends. Or having where you get to watch some of your FaVoRiTe old time musicals (andnew time musicals ;) .)
Or... making extremely long Paper Chains that count down the days until your 16th birthday, which happens to be 248 days away :P
oh, that and Disney Princess Movie Marathons of course :D

Bringing It Back
So I was thinking, remember the days before Facebook? When it was cool if you had an email, and if so daring, than a blog? So, why not start that again? Why not make blogs "cool" again? And that's what I'm aiming to do :)
